QR code not scanning? What to check
First distinguish two situations: the camera does not recognize the code at all, or it reads the code but the expected action fails. The causes and fixes are different.
Make a control version: square finders, a dark code, white background, four-module margin and no logo.
The camera cannot find the code
Open the original PNG or SVG rather than a reduced screenshot. Display it larger or print a bigger sample. Make sure it has not been stretched along only one axis.
Check lighting, focus and reflections. Vary the distance instead of holding the camera extremely close. If another phone scans it, the problem may involve the particular camera or scanner.
Restore simple finders and good contrast
The corner finders help determine the code’s position. Some decorative combinations of borders and centers are harder for scanners to recognize. In Qivo, apply standard finders and check again.
Use a dark code on white. Preserve clear space around it and remove nearby decorative lines. If that helps, reintroduce design elements one at a time.
Reduce the logo or content length
Temporarily remove the logo. If scanning improves, make the mark smaller and test again. High error correction does not make it safe to cover an arbitrary part of the image.
For a large vCard, keep the essential contact fields. Remove URL parameters only if the destination does not need them. Reducing density can make a code easier to use on a small surface.
The code scans, but the link or chat fails
Check the destination manually: does it include https://, is the page available, and is the path correct? Check international phone numbers for WhatsApp and Viber, public usernames for Telegram, and the network name, password and security type for Wi-Fi.
A successful Qivo check means the decoder recovered the expected text. It does not confirm website availability, account validity, network access or the presence of a particular app on the phone.
Understand the warning before download
If the editor cannot decode a design, simplify it or perform additional tests. Different scanners may produce different results. Saving despite the warning requires a separate explicit click.
Do not send an unverified design straight to a large print run. Test the final layout on the intended material. If a printed static code contains incorrect data, changing editor settings cannot update that printed code; you need a new image.
